It’s been an exciting year for players with all kinds of exciting releases, announcements, events and more from Bethesda, so join us as we recap just some of the top highlights from 2025!
RETURN TO CYRODIIL IN THE ELDER SCROLLS IV: OBLIVION REMASTERED
2025 kicked off strong with the reveal (and subsequent shadow launch!) of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered {target=”_blank”}, remastering the 2006 classic from the ground up for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
Presenting the majestic world, engaging quests and memorable characters of one of Bethesda Game Studios’ most pivotal titles with stunning new visuals, refined gameplay and enhancements for modern platforms, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered lets players step into the world of Cyrodiil like never before.

STAND AND FIGHT WITH THE SLAYER IN DOOM: THE DARK AGES
Players rose up as the mighty DOOM Slayer to strike down the forces of evil in DOOM: The Dark Ages, available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC and winner for Innovation in Accessibility at The Game Awards!
As a weapon of gods and kings, smite Hell’s armies with new implements of mayhem like the versatile Shield Saw, mighty Flail or devastating Skullcrusher Pulverizer. Dominate massive hordes by deploying cybernetic dragons, multi-story Atlan mechs and the Slayer’s own boundless rage in id Software’s most ambitious game yet!

PLAYABLE GHOULS, FISHING, A BRAND-NEW REGION AND MORE ARRIVE IN FALLOUT 76
Post-nuclear Appalachia continues to grow with a host of updates, enhancements and new content for Fallout 76. Players got in touch with their Ghoul Within featuring playable Ghoul characters, were Gone Fission with the new Fishing activity and recently made their way to Burning Springs, adding a massive new region of the map to explore, Bounty Hunting missions to pursue and even a chance to meet The Ghoul from the Fallout television series, (voiced by Walton Goggins!)
Along with expanded base building features in the C.A.M.P. Revamp update, a calendar chock full of in-game events and rewards to unlock with Fallout Seasons and this past year has been absolutely abuzz in Appalachia!
A YEAR OF ADVENTURE WITH INDIANA JONES AND THE GREAT CIRCLE
Our favorite globe-trotting archaeologist has been busy this year! MachineGames brought a new tale to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle™ with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle™: The Order of Giants DLC, whisking Indy to ancient catacombs below Italy to delve further into the story of the Nephilim Order.
On top of commemorating the game’s first year since launch with a free outfit for all players, MachineGames themselves celebrated the studio’s 15th anniversary this year! To celebrate, an Anniversary Update for Indiana Jones and The Great Circle was released for all players, adding community requested features and more.
HERETIC + HEXEN RETURN TO MODERN PLATFORMS
Just in time for a QuakeCon 2025 reveal, Raven Software’s groundbreaking first-person shooters produced by id Software - Heretic and Hexen - have been restored and enhanced for modern hardware in collaboration with Nightdive Studios.
New players and veteran fans alike can now dive into the arcane fantasy action of Heretic + Hexen, available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC.

WELCOME HOME FALLOUT 4 ANNIVERSARY EDITION
Commemorating 10 years since its original launch, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition combines the base game, the six official add-ons and over 150 pieces of Creation Club content to help you curate the ultimate post-apocalyptic adventure.
Whether you’re revisiting old haunts or wandering the wasteland for the first time, you’ll discover a host of new quests, weapons and customization options that make every playthrough unique.
FALLOUT SHELTER UPDATE INTRODUCES SEASONS
Also celebrating 10 years is Fallout Shelter, surpassing over 230,000,000 downloads and countless rooms built, dwellers appeased and quests completed. Now, Bethesda Game Studios are bringing Seasons to Fallout Shelter, available now for mobile and Steam players.
Accessible to all Fallout Shelter players, each Season will have a unique theme with challenges to complete and rewards to claim by progressing through the Battle Pass such as new and existing items, weapons and dwellers!
THE ELDER SCROLLS V: SKYRIM LANDS ON NINTENDO SWITCH 2
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition returns with an enhanced experience for Nintendo Switch 2. Bring the legendary open-world fantasy adventures of Skyrim with you at home or on the go!
Owners of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition on Nintendo Switch can download the game for free on Nintendo Switch 2. Owners of the base edition of Skyrim on Nintendo Switch can purchase the Anniversary Upgrade to download the game on Nintendo Switch 2.

SEASONS OF THE WORM CULT’S EPIC CONCLUSION AND MORE IN THE ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE
It’s been a fantastic year in The Elder Scrolls Online, including several major updates, a special co-op in-game event and much more as part of the 2025 Content Pass. Players partook in a two-part story in Seasons of the Worm Cult, as well as altered the fate of Solstice during the breach of Writhing Wall, a one-time in-game event that shaped the future of the very game world itself.
The Writhing Wall taken care of and the path into Eastern Solstice open, Content Pass owners can enter the new region and conclude the Worm Cult storyline – will you be there to witness the finale for yourself?
FALLOUT SEASON TWO PREMIERES ON PRIME
