Slaying Vampires with Friends

When you arrive, the island of Redfall is just gorgeous, idyllic even, but when something terrible happens at Aeuvum Therapeutics, it becomes a nightmare.

You and the townspeople are severely outnumbered by the vampire scourge, isolated from the rest of the world, and plunged into an interminable darkness. Good thing there are four heroes who might be able to save Redfall.

The Friends You Make Along the Way

Build a Squad
While equally rewarding as playing solo, co-op has an entirely different feel, so try every combination of heroes, weapons and abilities to take out the enemy. Send Bribón out as a distraction while Layla provides a shield to protect Devinder as he sneaks up behind them to shock them with UV light. Then Jacob the sharpshooter can rain down hell from above. And that’s only one of the many combinations of skills and heroes you can use to take out the vampire threat. For example, you and your teammates can all be Jacob.

Friends Forever
Everyone knows that friendships are based on trust, and nothing builds trust like brutally staking a vampire in the heart as a team. Taking out enemies together will increase your trust score with that hero. For example, if you play as Remi, and a friend plays as Layla, your Remi's bond will improve with all Laylas.

You can learn so much about your friends when you just spend time together, and the same is true for the heroes in Redfall. Strengthening the bonds between your heroes will unlock more conversations between them as they get to know each other. Playing co-op can expand your play experience because you’ll get more information on the characters, the narrative, and the island itself.

You’ll also get a Friendship Buff that depends on how close your hero is with the other heroes on your team. This buff is a team wide set of bonuses that will only grow stronger the more you play together.

Other Co-op Benefits
There are other advantages to building friendships and playing as a team. Your teammates can revive you or another downed hero.

If you join a co-op game with a new hero but haven’t progressed far enough to get a weapon or ammo, your teammates will have provided you with some starting gear. You can pick this starting gear up from a trunk in the basement of the Fire Station or the Maritime Center.

Teammates can also point out exactly where they are aiming their weapon or planning to go by pressing the PingWheel. This creates a marker that your whole team can see.
