Sometimes the best weapon you can have in the war against the vampire threat is a buddy to watch your back.
And if that buddy happens to have sweet powers, even better. Redfall can be played completely solo or with up to three friends, and we’ve got the lowdown on what it takes to build the perfect vampire slaying squad. Learn more about how co-op works, and then start assembling your team!

Friendly Fire
Some of the unique hero abilities are especially well-suited for co-op, particularly if you upgrade them the right way. Get some tips below on what skills and abilities to invest in to turn each hero into the perfect squadmate.
Devinder Crousley
If you’re looking for an all-around team player, look no further than Dev. Pretty much all of his abilities can benefit his whole team, whether he’s using his Arc Javelin to stun and damage enemies; Translocate to secure a better vantage point (or simply move in and out of a situation quickly) for himself or his teammates; or Blacklight to petrify all vampires the UV light touches, giving his squad time to take them out or make an escape. And not only that, but all three of those abilities can be further upgraded to help out the team even more. What a champ.
As a bonus tip for any squads featuring our favorite inventor, Devinder is the king of electricity damage. Invest in his Energize skill to boost nearby friendly electric damage and combine with the Clacker (an Unrivaled pistol) for especially lethal combinations.

Layla Ellison
Layla's Energized Ascension skill is fantastic if you’re a fan of stake launchers and shotguns. Combine this with her Vampire Slayer I and II skills that increases stake launcher ammo, and Layla becomes a powerful support Hero with serious vampire-slaying firepower.
When fully upgraded, even Layla’s Vampire Ex-Boyfriend becomes a team player. At its highest level, damage dealt by Jason heals Layla and her allies for a percentage of the damage inflicted.

Jacob Boyer
In addition to being the team’s eye in the sky (literally, thanks to his Raven ability), Jacob’s Cloak can be upgraded to cover squadmates for well-coordinated stealth approaches. This can be a lifesaver against tougher enemies like the Rook, where buying your team just a few seconds to get their bearings and formulate a plan of attack can be vital.

Remi de la Rosa
Remi’s background in search and rescue already makes her an ideal character to have in any squad lineup, and her Mobilize ability really seals the deal. With Mobilize, Remi drops a healing beacon to rally her teammates (and herself, because we can all use a little pick-me-up sometimes) and continuously heals any allies within the beacon’s effect area. Any teammate that gets downed within the effect area is also automatically revived by the aura. Upgrade Mobilize to even give Bribón his own (smaller) healing radius.
Remi can also give her teammates a physical boost with her upgraded C4 Charge ability. Time it right to explosively launch yourself or your friends to higher ground.
