It’s absolutely sweltering in Dallas, but inside the Hilton Anatole the attendees of <a href="/#en/events/article/quakecon-2016-news-and-updates/2016/08/04/168">QuakeCon 2016</a> seem unaffected by the heat outside. This year was my first time experiencing this epic con, and I can honestly say it may be my new favorite show. Now in its twenty-first year, North America’s largest LAN party is a heartfelt love letter to all fans of gaming. QuakeCon isn’t just <em>for</em> the fans, it’s also by the fans. Every year, dedicated volunteers come together to help stage the entire show. They lay cable in the BYOC, set up the exhibit halls, manage the rowdy show floor and so much more. The show really wouldn’t be possible without them. That’s why Bethesda interviewed these fans to produce a documentary that shines the spotlight on these individuals and what they do every single year to make sure QuakeCon is amazing for everyone attending. The inaugural Quake World Championships, the ultimate esports showcase of pure skill in Quake Champions, is moving on to the Global Finals after weeks of intense competition from some of the greatest professional players in the world. At QuakeCon 2017 (August 24-26 in Dallas, Texas), the best of the best will fight it out on the main stage for their share of the $1 million prize pool and to claim their place amongst the legends of esports’ founding franchise. QUAKE Jun 29, 2017 Quake World Championships Schedule
Announced during the Bethesda E3 2017 Showcase, the Quake World Championships will kick off in June and culminate in a final showdown during this year’s QuakeCon in Dallas, Texas. Competitors from around the world will be battling it out in Duel (solo players) and Sacrifice (teams) for their share of a $1 million prize pool. In addition to qualifying online, some solo Duelers will also be selected during an open qualifier that will be held in the BYOC area of QuakeCon. View
