QUAKE Jun 11, 2017 Quake Champions – BJ Blazkowicz, New Maps, New Weapon & More
During the Bethesda E3 2017 Showcase, the Quake Champions Closed Beta servers were briefly offline for maintenance… and when they came back up, there were a lot of surprising new additions, including the introduction of Wolfenstein’s leading man, BJ Blazkowicz, to the Champion roster. The E3 2017 update also adds new maps, a brand-new weapon and a host of new and improved features to explore. With this update comes some very exciting news: the Closed Beta will continue and will be kept live 24/7 from here on out with only brief periods of downtime for maintenance. If you haven’t been able to join the Closed Beta yet, don’t worry – more people are continuously being let in, so sign up now and you’ll immediately receive your beta key. View

Bethesda Game Studios Opens Montreal Office
Bethesda Game Studios today announced that it has opened a new development studio in Montreal, Quebec to expand its development capabilities in console, PC, and mobile gaming. “We’ve worked with some very talented developers in Montreal for a long time, and decided it was time to open a studio there,” said Todd Howard, Game Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda Game Studios. QUAKE Jun 29, 2017 Quake World Championships Schedule
Announced during the Bethesda E3 2017 Showcase, the Quake World Championships will kick off in June and culminate in a final showdown during this year’s QuakeCon in Dallas, Texas. Competitors from around the world will be battling it out in Duel (solo players) and Sacrifice (teams) for their share of a $1 million prize pool. In addition to qualifying online, some solo Duelers will also be selected during an open qualifier that will be held in the BYOC area of QuakeCon. It’s absolutely sweltering in Dallas, but inside the Hilton Anatole the attendees of <a href="/#en/events/article/quakecon-2016-news-and-updates/2016/08/04/168">QuakeCon 2016</a> seem unaffected by the heat outside. This year was my first time experiencing this epic con, and I can honestly say it may be my new favorite show. Now in its twenty-first year, North America’s largest LAN party is a heartfelt love letter to all fans of gaming. QuakeCon isn’t just <em>for</em> the fans, it’s also by the fans. Every year, dedicated volunteers come together to help stage the entire show. They lay cable in the BYOC, set up the exhibit halls, manage the rowdy show floor and so much more. The show really wouldn’t be possible without them. That’s why Bethesda interviewed these fans to produce a documentary that shines the spotlight on these individuals and what they do every single year to make sure QuakeCon is amazing for everyone attending.
