Some of you may be out hunting Easter Eggs this weekend, be it in your favorite games or around the house, so we thought we’d celebrate a few of the DOOM franchise’s own well-hidden little secrets!
Please enjoy revisiting our past Top 5 Secrets series from the early days of the Slayers Club. sniff They grow up so fast! (And let’s not forget The Icon of Sin’s infamous secret identity from DOOM II.)
But what about DOOM Eternal?
Wherever there’s an Easter egg, a bunny rabbit ain’t too far behind. Eagle-eyed players might’ve spotted a furry friend of the Slayer’s while playing through the Campaign. That’s right, the Slayer’s pet bunny Daisy can be found on multiple occasions in DOOM Eternal – can you find them all?
Additionally, the DOOM Eternal Collector’s Edition came with a special cassette tape that we teased had something…special…on it. We didn’t speak a word after that, but owners of the Collector’s Edition were quick to pick up on the tape’s secrets. A static tone that can be heard when playing the tape is much more than audio fuzz – a fan by the name of Hitzip found something special in the noise using audio steganography:
While the cassette was exclusive to the Collector’s Edition, the message inside is of use to everyone in DOOM Eternal. Go to the Slayer’s old-school computer in the Fortress of DOOM and use the hidden phrase to unlock something fun…
