As anyone who’s played Dishonored can attest, the game’s setting is as much of a character as the characters themselves.
Dunwall isn’t just a backdrop for Corvo Attano’s quest for redemption (or justice, depending on how you play the game); it’s a dynamic metropolis that tells a story all its own. Dishonored 2 is no different – and in the move to the southernmost city in the Empire of the Isles, the upcoming sequel delivers a completely different look and feel. Brighter and warmer, with beautiful beaches and lush flora, Karnaca is a sharp contrast to the chilly, industrial Dunwall.
“Karnaca is called the jewel of the south,” says Arkane’s Co-Creative Director Harvey Smith. But don’t think it’s all just fun in the sun. Gone are Dunwall’s rats, replaced by swarms of icky blood flies, which nest in corpses and create a whole new set of challenges for either Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano. Dishonored 2 will be available in 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
