Dark and deteriorated, with winding mazes and snaking corridors, the whaling town of Dunwall tells a tale all its own.
It’s as much a character in Dishonored as the characters themselves – a setting that some players will soon visit for the first time when Dishonored Definitive Edition arrives on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on August 25 in North America, August 27 in Australia and New Zealand and August 28 in Europe.
Even if you’ve already played Dishonored, this three-part animated prequel is worth re-watching (or watching for the first time in case you missed it). The Tales of Dunwall digs deep into the game’s grungy aesthetic – and the compelling characters – you’ll come to love/loathe in Dishonored Definitive Edition. Narrated by Chloe Grace Moretz (who also voices the young Emily Kaldwin), each stylized episode dives into Dishonored’s lore – including the rat plague, whaling and the seedy underbelly of the town – as seen through the eyes of its unfortunate citizens.

Episode 1: The Awakening

Meet Piero, a key figure in the city of Dunwall, who also plays a pivotal role in Corvo’s story.
(Note: These webisodes were published ahead of Dishonored’s 2012 release, which is why they still have the game’s original release date. Dishonored Definitive Edition is out this month on current-gen consoles with enhanced graphics and all the game’s additional content: Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches and Void Walker’s Arsenal.)
