DOOM (2016)

Fortunate fans got to go hands-on with DOOM multiplayer for the first-time ever at QuakeCon 2015.

The rest of us are eagerly awaiting the Alpha, Beta… and, of course, the release of DOOM next year. (ProTip: If you pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order, don’t forget to register your DOOM Beta code at www.wolfenstein.com/doom. The team is selecting participants for an upcoming Alpha, so make sure you’re in the running!) To tide us over, we chatted with the team at id Software to get a full understanding of DOOM Multiplayer. “Amazing guns,” says id Software Executive Producer Marty Stratton. “Fast, vertical movement.” And that’s just for starters. In short, DOOM multiplayer embraces the philosophy of “push-forward combat” that defines DOOM single-player, while offering some brand-new power-ups and addictive game modes. Get schooled in DOOM multiplayer – and find out who’s the best player at id Software – in our latest video.

DOOM will blast its way onto PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in spring 2016.
