On April 12, Ghostwire: Tokyo players take on an entirely new game mode that will put their ghost tracking, Ethereal Weaving and skyline-hopping skills to the ultimate test.

In addition to base game additions including extended story cutscenes, more side missions and new combat abilities, this free update also includes its own rogue-lite game mode: The Spider’s Thread!

DESCEND THE SPIDER’S THREAD

Found in the main menu, The Spider’s Thread tasks players to navigate a 30-stage gauntlet selected from over 120 hand-crafted levels. Some stages are straightforward, such as tackling a combat arena of Visitors, while others require a variety of other essential ghost-hunting skills to surpass like stealth and navigating Tokyo’s rooftops.

As you make your way through the increasingly intense stages and clear special challenges, you’ll earn precious Nekomata Koban to become stronger. Exchange your Koban with the friendly feline shopkeeper for crucial skill upgrades, beads and enhancements as you journey down The Spider’s Thread!

Don’t hoard your Nekoban Koban too long, as those upgrades will be essential for survival as you go from stage to stage. Should you be defeated, however, some of those upgrades you’ve earned will be retained, making you stronger for your next run.

Surmount all 30 stages in The Spider’s Thread and you’ll be rewarded with a special gauntlet inspired by the Ghostwire: Tokyo’s Shibuya 429 building. The catch? In this version, players keep going after clearing the first 30 stages, up to a whopping 429 stages in a row – a marathon run for only the most capable ghost hunters! Are you up for the challenge?
