You are Akito: a young man who finds himself among the last surviving human beings left in the city. Just then, the city is invaded by a cadre of paranormal creatures, ghostly apparitions, living urban legends and more – all seemingly the work of a mysterious masked man simply known as Hannya.

To stay alive, you must team up with a spectral ally of your own – the lost spirit of a rugged detective that goes by KK. Akito and KK share the same goal in their pursuit of Hannya, though it may seem as though your ghostly cohort is following an agenda of his own.

MUSTER YOUR ETHEREAL POWERS AND BATTLE VISITORS

Not every otherwordly being wandering Tokyo’s alleys is evil, but most should still be considered dangerous. Using Ethereal Weaving, a powerful elemental technique granted by bonding with KK, you can wield raw ether charged with the power of fire, water and wind to combat hostile Visitors. Deal enough damage and you can expose an enemy Visitor’s Core, opening them up for a devastating Core Grab that finishes them off with flair.

Just be wary: Akito and KK can be separated at times, impairing your ability to use Ethereal Weaving. Thankfully, you can still rely on your skills and arsenal such as a deadly bow and arrow, electricity-emitting Stun Talismans or stealthy takedowns to hold your own against the Visitors. Do not fear the unknown – attack it!

GLIDE ALONG TOKYO’S SKYLINE LIKE A SPECTRE

Most of humanity was wiped from the face of Tokyo, but the city is far from deserted. Grapple onto a nearby tengu yokai and explore the metropolis from above with your ghostly gliding ability. Up on the city’s rooftops, you’ll be able to discover secrets to reveal, enemies to fight, strange phenomenon to witness and even friendly yokai offering you assistance…though often on the condition you do something for them first.

As you reveal and explore more of the city’s streets, your skills and abilities will sharpen into those of an experienced ghost hunter while also acquainting you further with the beautiful-yet-bizarre world of Ghostwire – where tradition and modernity are brought together and urban legends, folklore and superstitions come alive.
