Go sightseeing with Ghostwire: Tokyo landmarks

In Ghostwire: Tokyo, a mysterious fog enshrouds the city, causing nearly all its population to instantly vanish while merging our world with one of living myths, ghosts and even yokai!

As one of the last humans left, you’ll explore a lovingly recreated Tokyo steeped in conspiracies and urban legend as you fight to save the city from disaster.

On your journey, you’ll come across Landmarks – some fictional, some based on locations in real-life Tokyo - giving the city its identity. With over 30 Landmarks to discover, we thought we’d recommend a few must-see stops during your paranormal adventure. Before you venture too far, however, be sure to find and cleanse Torii Gates and Shrines you come across, pushing the fog back and uncovering more of the city!

SHIBUYA SCRAMBLE CROSSING

A four-way intersection recognized across the globe, this giant crossing outside Shibuya Station is visited daily by countless people on their way to work, posing for selfies or soaking in the giant electric signage. While that’s not the case in Ghostwire: Tokyo on account of all the people disappearing, it remains a sight to behold. You’ll still want to watch where you’re going while you cross these streets, though – instead of pedestrians, you’re bound to bump into some Visitors here.

TSUKINAMI DAI-ICHI PARK

Tokyo isn’t just concrete and steel – there are plenty of places like this nice park to get some fresh air and enjoy the greenery. As a bonus, lots of the neighborhood cats like to hang out around here, looking for a free treat. Why not give them a pet next time they approach you, or even use your spiritual abilities to read their thoughts? Could get you some useful intel.

SHIBUYA STRIPE TOWER

Located in the south-east area of your map, this commercial high-rise was the tallest building in the area from when it was built in 1975 all the way until 2012, when the Kagerie building was constructed. It’ll take some dedicated use of your Tengu Grapple, but think how fun it would be to go base jumping with your Ethereal Gliding ability off that?

TATSUI SHRINE

While every shrine in Tokyo carries some history to it, the Buddhist temple here is notable for once housing a terakoya school from around the 18th century. Terakoya were a type of educational institution run by the temple, common in the late Edo period – perhaps you could gain some knowledge by taking a visit.

SHIBUYA STATION

Many transit lines run through this once-packed railway station, making it one of the most widely used stations in all of Japan today. Crowds have since gotten more manageable with nearly all of Tokyo’s population vanishing, but there still seems to be something off about taking the trains. It might be that urban legend about a train that leads to nowhere…
