Recently announced during the ESO 2024 Global Reveal, The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road arrives June 3 for PC/Mac and June 18 on Xbox and PlayStation consoles and is now available for pre-purchase. This latest Chapter in The Elder Scrolls Online saga continues the story that began in 2023’s Necrom and was revealed alongside the Scions of Ithelia dungeon DLC, arriving March 11 for PC/Mac and March 26 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

Encounter the Forgotten Prince

In Gold Road, you must investigate the return of Ithelia, a Daedric Prince never seen before in the Elder Scrolls series. Throughout this new story line, it’s up to you and your allies to uncover the schemes of her most devoted followers, encounter opportunistic Wood Elves, and protect the people of West Weald from the chaos of the Forgotten Prince’s return.

The Gold Road main storyline continues the narrative threads that began in last year’s Necrom Chapter, but all of Tamriel’s heroes can enjoy this new story, regardless of whether they played the earlier adventure or not.

Explore West Weald

In this latest Chapter, you’ll venture into West Weald, a new zone located southwest of Cyrodiil and along the borders of Valenwood and the Gold Coast.

Long-time Elder Scrolls fans might recognize the region’s capital, Skingrad, its vineyards, and many Ayleid ruins from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Recently, strange Daedric incursions and a series of dramatic changes has beset this Imperial Colovian region, including the sudden emergence of a dense magical jungle along the Valenwood border.

As a new zone, West Weald is home to no shortage of unique challenges for would-be adventurers. This includes unique quests that dive deeper into the lore and peoples of this part of Tamriel, delves and public dungeons to explore, Mirrormoor Incursions (a new type of world event), and a new 12-player PvE Trial. All of these quests and activities bring their own rewards too, including new item sets, Achievements and collectibles.

Create New Power with Scribing

The Gold Road Chapter also introduces the new Scribing system. With Scribing, you can collect and customize unique skills, called Grimoires, that grant you the opportunity to further tailor your character’s playstyle by allowing you to edit their primary, secondary, and tertiary effects.

For example, the Vault Grimoire creates a damaging area of effect while moving you out of danger. You can then choose to edit the Grimoire’s scripts to change its damage type, give it greater synergy with your current build, or even heal or buff your allies.

In addition to being a powerful new tool to customize your characters, Scribing is also an exploration into the ancient origins of magic in Tamriel. In its questline, you can dive deep into the secrets of the mage who first learned to manipulate magic, all the while expanding your collection of Grimoires and scripts.

Scions of Ithelia Dungeon DLC

Also announced during the Global Reveal was ESO’s next dungeon DLC, Scions of Ithelia. This new PvE DLC introduces two dungeons to Tamriel’s adventuring bands, Oathsworn Pit and Bedlam Veil, tasking you and your allies to enact revenge on behalf of the God of Curses and defend the mysterious hold of the Demiprince of Maelstrom. Take heed, because while these serve as standalone adventures in their own rights, the events of these two storylines all lead toward the upcoming Gold Road Chapter.

Each dungeon introduces its own unique quest, challenges, secrets, and rewards, including new Achievements, item sets, and collectibles. As a DLC game pack, Scions of Ithelia will be available via the Crown Store or ESO Plus membership, and it arrives March 11 on PC/Mac and March 26 on Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
